To take a break from tech once and a while on the site - I'd like to periodically mini-review good restaurants in the Seattle area. This isn't as off-topic as it sounds. I find that geek types (assuming most nullstream readers are), are actually really into a wide variety of foods. People outside tech culture would probably assume nerds would stick with white bread, pringles and Jolt. Instead, I've found tech people to be some of the best versed in non-american food. My theory is that the relatively high number of people from Asian and Indian cultures that work in the tech industry have influenced the eating habits, and once the floodgates were open...

Before we do a review, take a look at TastingMenu's Seattle restaurant blog. The author has talked up Lampreia so much, I can't wait to go!

And if anyone has recommendations in San Francisco or Palo Alto, post 'em here, too.

Good site. I've never seen Tasting Menu before but it's very interesting.

I've thought of doing a Bellingham Burrito Fortnight Review. That's because there are so many places to get Burritos in Bellingham, that you could eat them for two weeks and never go to the same place twice.

It's good that Seattle and Vancouver are only a short drive away so I can get my Sushi / Curry / Matt's fix in.

My mini review of Matt's: I got food poisioning there. Never went back.

J: That's your review for every restaurant. Except for diagonal place: "They had great water once. Never duplicated in the presence of Paul, though."

They did have great water... for awhile at least. I'll back up J's story.

Cowhead: chile relleno. When it worked, it was awesome. When it didn't, you learned to appreciate the paint job in the bathroom.

what about arm pit thai? Boy I sure learned a lesson there.

LOL - you learned the lesson so I didn't have to. I never went to that place.

World Cafe: Christopher Walken serves a good chicken rama.

Yeah it was one of those cases where I thought; "There no way it can be as bad as people say". I guess it 'can' be as bad.

That place actually has a new name, and Bryan suggested going there a couple months ago. I hesitated for a minute, thinking - "maybe it's under new management", but it just isn't worth the risk.
