RV = 34 feet, Trailer = 20 feet, Tongue = 4 ft.
Trailer weight outbound trip, uh, very very heavy. Heaviest single item: a pallet of sheet steel for a kit garage weighing 3400 pounds. (Had to be unloaded by hand and then re-stacked on the pallet in a storage unit).
Return trip; just heavy. Heaviest single item: an old Ford pickup.
Wildlife seen on or very near the road:
Large mammals hit: 0 (Bonus points for spotting and narrowly avoiding several buffalo standing on a narrow mountain road at night in the rain).
Birds hit: 5 (Stupid little birds like to play chicken with cars. Sometimes the birds lose and make an unsettling thump sound as they smack the front of the RV).
Rodents hit: unknown.
New rock chips in windshield: 5 plus 1 small crack.
Major mechanical failures or flat tires: 0.
Minor mechanical problems: 2. 1 broken water fitting on the hot water tank, 1 broken hitch adjustment screw (requiring said screw to be drilled out and re-tapped through 1/2 " steel). Total repair time: 8 hours.
Outbound trip driving time, Seattle to Anchorage (average 14 hours driving per day): 4 days. Return trip: 3 1/2 days (less weight but more snow). Total trip duration 11 1/2 days.
Total fuel consumed: You don't want to know!
