Sony PS3 to become DVR?

It looks like Sony' is transforming the PS3 into a DVR / Media hub with the addition of a TV tuner peripheral. I wouldn't mind something like that for my 360.

Nice! I'd love to see MS do this for the 360. They'd probably do it via remote media center interface though.

Have you seen the rumors that all the 360s are gettting HDMI? HDMI and wireless controller on the base model with no HDD actually seems attractive to me. I can't see filling the disk with downloaded movies and arcade games at the prices they're charging.

Premiums with HDMI have been confirmed. Core systems are still a rumor I think:

You need the HDD to actually do live. Content downloads, game patches and large save sizes. Plus, trust me, even if you never want to buy an arcade game (which you WILL do), you'll certainly want to download demos and trailers of upcoming games to try before you buy. That feature alone is worth the extra $$.
