Bluethooth denial

Mobile Tech

At what point do you realize that despite years of criticizing bluetooth technology you might actually be a closet fanboy? I guess right about the time you sit down and think about how many Bluetooth accessories you actually own, and how often you actually use them. Pretty much all the computers and mobile devices I use these days are Bluetooth enabled in some fashion. Oh, and that photo is not entirely accurate since I actually own 3 pairs of those Logitech made headphones (don't ask) and a couple of Bluetooth dongles.

I hate bluetooth. When I ordered my iMac back in October, I made the mistake of ordering the bluetooth keyboard and mouse combo. The iMac boots in a few seconds, but the keyboard takes about 1 minute to bind. So I have to sit there looking at a login screen for a while before I can actually start typing. I've got Mac OS X set to recognize right click, but for some reason, the bluetooth mouse "forgets" its ability to do right clicks occasionally.

Also the long delay in binding means that I can't use Bootcamp, which requires you to hold down 'c' at boot time to choose the boot disk. Plus all the wireless things require batteries, which only seem to run out when you don't have replacements.
