Red Ring O Death

May 14, 2007 11:37 PM PST

There are few things the 360 warrior fears more than the dreaded Red Ring O Death.
All my base are belong to it. I have no chance to survive, make my time. No joy for great justice. Main screen turn off.

Look on the bright side: now is your chance to get the elite!

You forgot Tron, "End of Line".

Is the 360 hardware so unreliable? Maybe it's time to return to PC gaming.

John, May 15, 2007 02:14 PM:

Right because PC gaming has always been a reliable smooth ride. :) I shudder to think of all the crashes, hangs, sound and network problems, hardware upgrades etc. that I've had to deal with over the years pushing the edge of PC gaming. But yes it seems that the first gen 360 is having quite the failure rate. It is hard to see how they are going to be profitable next year if they are having to repair so many consoles.

As for the Elite.. if I could find one, I'd buy it. On a semi positive note, they are going to fix it for free under the new extended warranty deal.

Did you find an elite yet?

John, May 17, 2007 01:19 PM:

Maybe. ;) But I don't have it in my possession at the moment. So I will miss Xbox night. Funny this is exactly how I got my second Xbox 1.0. Maybe it is just a scam to get hardcore gaming geeks to plunk down more dough.

You missed out, Rainbow 6 is way more fun with lots of people (which we had last night)...

Curse you Microsoft. [Raises feeble fist].

Anyhow, my new black, but not shiny, 360 will be here today or Monday depending on the mood of the Fedex gods. I'm still waiting for the box to send my by broken 360 back in.

John, May 18, 2007 03:39 PM:

The gods have smiled on me. Now to order that stupid transfer cable that they should have included in the box.

Gavin sent this link in to The Sarcastic Gamer. On the site you'll find a parody song called The Ring of Fire. Check it out, it is hilarious.
