A friend of mine visited and let me play Tiger Woods golf on this. I couldn't put it down. The little analog joystick thing is super cool. The heft, glossy black finish, the screen, the games, the controls...it's all good.
Mmm, that's not a very good reason to not buy it. How about that it's summer and you should be playing outside? Yea, I'll go with that. Buy this in October.

I'm no longer in danger of buying a PSP. I bought a Dell X50v Axim instead (thanks to J for pointing out the coupons that saved me a bunch... not sure exactly how much because Dell lists that device at anywhere from $399 to $597... I got mine for $297!).
